Executive Committee Report We revised the bylaws and submitted them to Purdue Alumni Association (PAA) for approval. We then looked at some of the suggested activities for local clubs. Local clubs can work toward Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. Each level requires clubs to do activities; and, depending on the level achieved, the club receives a rebate from PAA! Here are the activities we decided to work toward in the current fiscal year, July 1, 2006 – June 30, 2007. Discovery – Students Programs: Provide a list of alumni club members to school counselors as a source for potential students and parents. Please see article below about High School Mentoring opportunities. Service – Community Service: Book drive. Done and delivered on December 14. Please see article below about Mom’s House. Pride – Purdue Pride: (1) Submit a club success story to your staff liaison for possible publication to the ALUMNUS magazine. The book drive story submitted to PAA and appeared in the March/April issue on page 32. (2) Obtain local news coverage for a club event or program. Respect – Scholarship: (1) Award scholarship(s) to Purdue student(s) attending a Purdue campus. (2) Raffles/silent auctions to raise dollars. We did a 50/50 raffle at the Champs Bowl viewing. (3) Solicit donations through annual mailers. (4) Golf outing as fundraiser. Responsibility – Club Service: (1) Publish a club newsletter. (2) Host an event for a target audience. Tradition – Social: (1) Game watchings, monthly dinner clubs, annual meeting, etc. We gathered to watch the Champs Bowl at Ralphie’s in Maumee. (2) Host an event to support Purdue athletics. Tradition – University Support: (1) Send a club representative to the annual Club Officers Conference. (2) Host an annual dinner with a campus rep. See article below. (3) Make a donation to a university program (not a scholarship). (4) Have a prominent alumni speak to the club.
